My Responsibilities to Clients

It is an honour and privilege to be a counsellor, providing psychotherapy to the public. My work is deeply rewarding and meaningful, and I appreciate each and every one of my clients.

As a regulated therapist and member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists, I am committed to upholding the ethical standards and professional guidelines set by these colleges. This includes practicing with integrity, competence, and accountability; protecting your privacy and confidentiality; obtaining informed consent; maintaining clear professional boundaries; and engaging in ongoing education and supervision to ensure safe, evidence-informed care. I am dedicated to providing inclusive, respectful, and culturally responsive counselling, and to working in a way that prioritizes your wellbeing, autonomy, and right to make informed choices about your care.

Each of these regulatory bodies exists to protect the public and provides a formal process for clients to raise concerns or file complaints about a registrant’s conduct or practice. If you ever have questions, concerns, or feel your care has not met expected standards, you are encouraged to speak with me directly whenever possible. You also have the right to contact the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, or the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists to learn about their complaint and review processes. These independent processes are designed to ensure transparency, accountability, and the protection of clients.
